Dr. Stefano Osella holds a PhD in Law from the European University
Institute in Florence and is presently a Research Fellow in the Department
of Legal Studies at Università Bocconi in Milan, Italy. Previously he was
a Research Fellow in the Law & Anthropology Department of the Max
Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle. His research combines
legal studies and anthropology and covers areas such as human rights,
comparative constitutional law, social movements, LGBT rights and inter-
sectionality. Dr. Osella will be a Fellow at SCAS during the spring term of 2024.

Amanda Vickery is Professor in early modern history at Queen Mary
University of London, UK, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Professor
Vickery has published on British history from the 17th to the 20th century. 
The questions she asks are informed by feminism. Her research explores
social, economic and cultural history, with a particular interest in love and
power, gender and family, words and objects. Her newest project is “Women
Wanted. Women’s Hopes in Britain, 1945–c.1970”. In addition to her scholarly
pursuits, Amanda Vickery is a frequent contributor and presenter in TV and
radio, as well as a regular reviewer and commentator in the quality press. Professor Vickery will
spend the academic year of 2023–24 in Uppsala as a residential SCAS Fellow.
